What To Expect
Scholar Day is your chance to shine — to show us what excites you, how you think and where you’re headed next. You’ll take part in interactive activities that highlight your strengths, showcase your potential and help you connect with future professors and classmates.
While you’re here, you’ll:
- + CONNECT WITH FACULTY: Your session begins with a conversation around your intended major — a chance to meet professors, ask questions and explore what academic life looks like at Central.
- + ENGAGE IN A GROUP DISCUSSION: Next, you’ll participate in a dynamic, discussion-based activity focused on Central’s core teaching values: relationships, reflection and responsibility. Designed to spark your creativity and challenge your thinking, you’ll get a feel for how learning happens here.
- + SHARE YOUR STORY: You’ll sit down one-on-one with a Central professor to talk about your interests, your goals and what makes you you. This conversation is a space for you to be real — to reflect on your group discussion and let your passions, goals and desires shine through.
- + HEAR FROM STUDENTS: End the day hearing from current Central students who’ll share their real-life experiences — the highs, the challenges and what it’s really like to be part of the central community.
Be real. Stay open. Jump in. We’re not looking for perfect — we’re looking for you.

As you prepare for the day, consider these questions:
- What does engaged citizenship mean to you?
- How can students participate in intellectual conversations around societal issues while ensuring their arguments are well-informed and respectful?
- What are some ways we can listen carefully and consider other people’s ideas?
- What are some small actions you can take to make a positive difference in your community?
