Central RED Society – Winterset Day Trip

Join us Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017

Join us for a beautiful fall day in Winterset. This historic community is home to the covered bridges, birthplace of John Wayne and location for the movie Bridges of Madison County. We will begin our day with a guided tour of three of the six covered bridges. After the tour, we will enjoy lunch with beef noodles and apple crisp at the Northside Café. The Café was used in the movie and is well known for American home cooking served up in an old-fashioned establishment. After lunch, we will have two hours to visit at our own pace: The John Wayne Museum (recently honored with an Outstanding Attraction Award from the Iowa Tourism Office); the Iowa Quilt Museum, which will feature “The Bounty of Baskets” (small basket quilts); and the many quaint shops around the square. Limit of 50.
