Central added men’s volleyball as a club sport in 2019-20, a result of the growth of the sport at the high school and college levels. With interest, the club may be expanded into a varsity sport.
During the 2017-18 school year, more than 60,000 boys across the country participated in sanctioned varsity high school volleyball programs. In fact, 16 states offer it as a sanctioned sport.
There are nine colleges in Iowa with a varsity men’s volleyball program, including eight members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
