We’re Here To Help

Central College is committed to providing students with a safe learning environment. The resources below are some of the many ways students may find information and support.

Title IX Statement

Central does not discriminate in its employment practices or in its educational programs or activities on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, religion, disability (including pregnancy), sex, age, sexual orientation, gender expression and identity, genetic information (for employees) or any other characteristics protected by law. Central also prohibits retaliation against any person opposing discrimination or participating in any discrimination investigation or complaint process internally or externally. Reports of misconduct, questions regarding Title IX, and concerns about noncompliance should be directed to Central’s Title IX coordinator and equity officer.

Student Support Services

Student Support Services is designed to enhance academic skills, retain and graduate students and foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of first-generation, income-eligible and students with disabilities. For more information, and to request academic accommodations, contact Central’s Student Support Services team.

Additional accommodations for residence life and living may be requested by contacting residencelife@central.edu.

Counseling on Campus

With full-time counselors on campus, Central’s counseling center works with students to create plans with each individual’s mental well-being in mind. The team also helps support students through self-improvement, problem-solving, coping with mental health symptoms and managing life transitions. Counseling services are available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday–Friday during the academic year (closed for campus breaks). This service is located on the second floor of the Maytag Student Center. Schedule your appointment by contacting 641-628-5656 or counseling@central.edu.
