Why Did You Choose Central College? I chose Central for many reasons. Both of my parents graduated from Central along with other members of my family, so I had always been interested in coming here. I also have a lot of family living in Pella, so this town has always been near and dear to my heart. After a somewhat unsuccessful first year at a different college, I visited Central and knew this is where I wanted to be.
What Is Your Favorite Central Tradition? One of my favorite traditions is singing the fight song after the football team scores a touchdown. I first learned it from my dad when we would come watch my brother play, so it’s fun to do it now as a student!
What Is Your Most Memorable Experience at Central College Thus Far? Probably all the connections I have made with others. One of the best was having Mary Stark, professor emerita of English — she was my mom’s favorite professor and her advisor when she was a student!
What Is Your Favorite Thing About Pella? One of my favorite things about Pella is Lake Red Rock. It is one of the most beautiful places, and there are so many different things to do there. I love watching the sun rise or set over the lake.
