9/11 WINNIPEG

Join us Sept. 11

Memorial Monument at Central College

Most Americans remember where they were when they learned the World Trade Center’s twin towers were attacked by terrorists on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. Come along with Central RED as we hear Rob Bandstra’s perspective as the executive officer to the commanding general in charge of North America defense at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Bandstra will share his story at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, Dave and Ardie Sutphen Common Room, Graham Annex.

Bandstra enlisted in the Air Force after graduation from Pella Christian High School. Starting at the lowest rank, he worked his way into broader roles of responsibility throughout his 30-year career, ultimately being promoted to Lt. Colonel and commanding two special operations squadrons.

The Central RED Society is a volunteer-driven, lifelong learning and social organization with an abiding partnership with Central College alumni and friends who wish to share knowledge, talents and experiences.
