Central RED – “From Disaster to Hope and Healing”

Join Central RED on Thursday, March 23, for a special dinner presentation.

In June 2018, Volcano Fuego erupted in Guatemala which buried towns and killed many families. Mary Glendening ’87, along with two physicians, flew from Houston to Guatemala City within 24 hours after the eruption. This presentation will highlight activities after the volcano explosion, and the collaboration between Shriners Children’s Hospital, United States military and Guatemalan officials to endure the safe transport of pediatric patients to Galveston, Texas.

Mary Glendening has worked at Shriners Children’s Texas since 1999 in several nursing and leadership roles. Since 2014, Mary has been the hospital administrator of this specialized pediatric hospital.
