In 1998, George Ann Huck and Jann Freed set out to interview women in Yucatan. Some of them were recognized as leaders and others were ordinary women doing extraordinary things. After more than a decade of interviewing and photographing the women, translating and analyzing the data, a book was published in 2010. A bilingual photography exhibit has been displayed at more than 20 locations over the years including a women’s festival in Merida. Jann will share stories about their adventures during this long, but memorable process. Lunch will be a Yucatan region meal.
Jann Freed, PhD, is a Leadership Development and Change Management Consultant with The Genysys Group. Jann is professor emerita of business management and the former Mark and Kay De Cook Endowed Chair in Leadership and Character Development at Central College where she had a 30-year career.
