Mark Mills has taught at Central College since 1999. During the 2006-07 academic year, he worked part time in the test lab at Pella Corporation to learn how mathematics and statistics were used in the working world. Mills developed the actuarial science major at Central in 2009 and has been gradually developing the program since its inception. In 2012, he took and passed actuarial Exam P (Probability) and in 2014, he took and passed actuarial Exam FM (Financial Mathematics).
In his free time, Mills spends time with his wife and two children. He is an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team — and college football in general. Mills enjoys running; he has run the Des Moines half-marathon numerous times in addition to completing the Des Moines marathon in 2014. Mills is a past recipient of the Frank W. Moore Faculty Award.
