About Mark Mills
Mark Mills has taught at Central College since 1999. During the 2006-07 school year, he worked part-time in the test lab at Pella Corporation to learn how mathematics and statistics were used in the working world. He developed the actuarial science major in 2009 and has been gradually developing the program. In 2012, Mills took and passed actuarial Exam P (Probability) and in 2014, he took and passed actuarial Exam FM (Financial Mathematics). When asked what mathematics courses are his favorite to teach, his usual answer is, “The ones I’m teaching now.” In his free time, he spends time with his wife and two children. Mills is an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhusker football team–and college football, more generally. He enjoys running (because he enjoys eating), and he has run numerous half-marathons and he even completed the 2014 Des Moines marathon. Mills is a past recipient of the Frank W. Moore Faculty Award.
