What kind of hands-on experience will I get in the data science program?

Most data science courses include a project in which students apply what they are learning to an area of personal interest. Past projects have included conducting exit polls at local election sites, building data dashboards to support athletics teams and analyzing data from undergraduate research projects. In Data 410, the program’s capstone course, students complete a semester-long project that allows them to apply the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the program to a real-world problem of their choosing.
