Advice for students seeking an internship: Do your research! Internships are your best opportunity to not only see what it is like to work for a certain employer, but also what it is like to work in that given field. Use internships as a tool to help you decide what it is you genuinely want to do. Check out Handshake for internships, talk to faculty, come see our team and build connections with Central alumni on LinkedIn. Sometimes the best opportunities come from putting yourself out there through networking opportunities.

Interview Tips: Take advantage of the opportunity to complete a mock interview through our career development office. Getting feedback from a real recruiter in your field of interest provides valuable feedback and will help you ease those nerves when the time comes for the real interview. Also do your research on the employer! Knowing about the company you are interviewing with goes a long way with recruiters!

My door is always open to students who need a little bit of help with a résumé, job search, preparing for an interview, looking to explore a career, getting involved in the community or studying off campus. Come see me — I would love to meet you and help you on your journey here at Central!
