Interlibrary Loan Request

Summer Interlibrary Loan Requests

  • Geisler Library interlibrary loan (ILL) services are not available May 15 – July 31.
  • You can request items through Pella Public Library*.
  • You need a Pella Public Library card before you can submit a request. Bring your drivers’ license and Central ID to Pella Public Library to get one.
  • To request your items:
    1. Go to Pella Public Library’s catalog
    2. Click on “Request an Item” in the upper right-hand area of the page
    3. Enter your library card number and a PIN number

*Pella Public Library will limit their borrowing to domestic libraries and try to borrow from free lenders if possible; if there are none, the library will proceed with borrowing the item so long as the fee is $25 or less.

Interlibrary Loan Items through Geisler Library:

  • Renewal requests for your current ILL items are not possible after May 31.
  • ILL items obtained by Geisler Library should be returned to the Geisler Library book drops on or before the due date.

Interlibrary Loan Items Through Pella Public Library:

  • Call, email or stop by the front desk for renewal requests of ILL items.
  • ILL items obtained by Pella Public Library must be returned to Pella Public Library.

Directions

  1. Search by title, author or keywords. Use keyword for ISBN searches.
  2. When you see the correct item, click on the record.
  3. To request, click on the Request Through Interlibrary Loan button and fill out the form.
  4. If a request button does not appear, click the Email button at the top of the record and send it to interlibraryloan@central.edu. Make sure to include your name with the email.
