For Sofiea Geistkemper ’28 Central College is the perfect place for her college experience.
“After touring, it felt like a place where I could be at home,” she says. “I just knew that this was the best place for me to succeed.”
Her pursuit of success here starts with being involved in the community. She keeps busy as the president of both the Computer Science Club and Zeta Upsilon sorority, works behind the scenes with lighting and other technology for theatre productions, and plays trombone in several music ensembles amidst her pursuit of a computer science major and two minors.
“I’m involved in quite a few things on campus,” Geistkemper says with a smile.
She knows that her involvement at Central will help her prosper after graduation.
“Central has prepared me for my future by giving me the connections I need,” she says.
Geistkemper used those connections to secure an internship with Vermeer Corporation as an IT Software Development Intern, which led to a part-time role with them while she remains a full-time student. Her success story propels her to encourage future students to think about what they really want out of their college experience.
